Four Functions of Fences

When it comes to having a fence installed, you need to ask yourself, what do I want to get out of this fence? Once you decide on a purpose for your barrier, it will make the rest of the decision process easier.

Fence Enclosure:

These types of fences are installed for the sole purpose of keeping something or things in. If you are worried about kids or pets running off too far, an enclosure will prevent them from doing so. The material of your fence will depend on what you are trying to keep in. If you have livestock, a wooden post and rail fence will do the trick. You will want something a bit stronger and sturdier, like a chain link fence, if you are trying to keep children or pets within the confines of your yard.

Decorative Fence:

Picket fences, ornamental iron fences and some vinyl fences fall into the decorative fence category. These provide security while adding some style, design and visual appeal to your home. If you are looking for the bonus security, certain decorative fences are better than others.

Security Fence:

If you want to keep intruders out and keep your home and family safe, you will want some type of security fence. There are a variety of security fences you can choose from: if you are looking for a residential security fence, wood may be the best to add some aesthetic appeal as well. For commercial purposes, you will want something with higher security additions.

Privacy Fence:

Privacy fences create an audio and visual barrier between you and your neighbors. Poly vinyl is the most common choice for this type of fence as there are no spaces between planks, but there are varieties of privacy fence options using other materials as well.

Fences can serve a variety of purposes for home and business owners alike. No matter what you are looking for, Straight Line Fence can assist you in choosing and installing the fence you need!
